Where can I find Nature's Source™ products?

You can find Nature's Source™ products in most local supermarkets, drug stores, mass-merchandise stores and do-it-yourself stores, alongside the other cleaners in the cleaning aisle.
Do you offer your products in a refill bottle?

No, our products are not currently available in refill bottles. Our Nature's Source™ bottles are recyclable, so please recycle.
Are Nature's Source™ products the same as Windex®, Shout® and Scrubbing Bubbles® products?

No. Nature's Source™ products are brought to you by the same people that make Windex®, Shout® and Scrubbing Bubbles®, but are made with natural and biodegradable ingredients. These formulas were specially developed in response to consumer requests for natural cleaning products.
Why are you introducing a line of natural products?

SC Johnson has been focused on the environment for many years and has been a leader in green chemistry. Whether it was removing CFC propellants from our aerosols before being required to do so, rolling out our Greenlist™ process that helps select environmentally-responsible ingredients, or running manufacturing facilities from renewable energy, we have a long history of doing what is right for the environment. Like any company, we are always listening to our consumers and what they are looking for. Nature's Source™ products were created in response to increasing consumer demand for more natural
products.
What is Greenlist™?

The Greenlist™ process provides environmental-impact ratings for more than 95% of the raw materials we use, including solvents, propellants, insecticides, packaging and more. SC Johnson developed the Greenlist™ process to help our scientists make choices that protect the planet and its people while maintaining the high performance of our products. What is Design for the Environment (DfE)? Who certifies DfE?

DfE, Design for the Environment is a voluntary program of the US Environmental Protection Agency. The Design for the Environment (DfE) Program works in partnership with companies to reduce risk to people and the environment by preventing pollution. The basis for a DfE partnership rests on the selection of the safest possible ingredients that permit the formulation of high-performing, cost-effective products. DfE can provide formulators with information on chemical characteristics and toxicities of raw materials and additives, safer substitutes for chemicals of concern, and innovative new chemistries.
Are your bottles recyclable? Are your triggers and toilet caps recyclable?

Nature's Source™ bottles are recyclable; however, the triggers and toilet caps are not recyclable at this time. This is because the plastic in the triggers and caps is composed of several different types of materials. We are constantly searching for ways to reduce the environmental impact of our packaging.

Nature's Source™ Natural Glass & Surface Cleaner and Nature's Source™ Natural All-Purpose Cleaner bottles (clear bottles) are made of 50% post-consumer recycled plastic and are 100% recyclable polyethylene terephthalate (PETE). They consist of the same plastic as a two-liter soda bottle.

Nature's Source™ Natural Bathroom Cleaner, Nature's Source™ Natural Toilet Bowl Cleaner and Nature's Source™ Natural Laundry Stain Remover bottles (white bottles) are made of 25% post-consumer recycled plastic and consist of recyclable high-density polyethylene (HDPE)—the same plastic used in milk jug bottles.
What is the leaf on your package?

The leaf design is used to reinforce the natural qualities of the Nature's Source™ product line. The leaf may also help you identify Nature's Source™ products more easily in your favorite store. It is not intended to represent any specific tree or plant.
What does Nature's Source™ mean?

The name Nature's Source™ was chosen to communicate the fact that these products are specially formulated to combine simple, biodegradable, plant-based cleaners into a natural cleaning solution that leaves nothing behind but a fresh scent.
Are Nature's Source™ products tested on animals?

No. Nature's Source™ natural products are not tested on animals and do not contain animal ingredients or by-products.

What surfaces are your products safe to use on?
Nature's Source™ Natural Bathroom Cleaner is safe to use on:
- Chrome fixtures
- Fiberglass
- Glazed ceramic tile
- Glazed porcelain surfaces
- Plastic
- Stainless steel
- Synthetic marble
- Vinyl
You should avoid using on natural marble, brass or varnished wood. On any other surface you should spot test in an inconspicuous area before using.

Nature's Source™ Natural Toilet Bowl Cleaner is safe to use on:
- Ceramic
- Porcelain surfaces

You should avoid using on wood or other varnished surfaces, unsealed granite or marble. On any other surface you should spot test in an inconspicuous area before using.

Nature's Source™ Natural Laundry Stain Remover is safe to use on:
- All colorfast washables
Not recommended for use on wool and silk. Stains like rust, bleach damage, dried paint, ink or dyes may be impossible for any stain treater to remove.
Are your products safe to use around kids and pets? If so, then why do I need to store out of their reach?

SC Johnson products, including Nature's Source™ products, are not harmful when used as directed. However, as a good practice for household safety, we recommend that consumers not leave cleaning products within reach of children and pets.
Are any of these products anti-bacterial?

Not at this time.
Are Nature's Source™ natural cleaners safe for my plumbing and septic systems?

Yes. All five Nature's Source™ natural cleaners are safe for your plumbing and septic systems.
Can I use Nature's Source™ Natural Laundry Stain Remover in high-efficiency (HE) washing machines?

Yes. Nature's Source™ Natural Laundry Stain Remover works in both high-efficiency (HE) and standard washing machines.

Ingredients
How "natural" are these products?
Unfortunately, there is currently no industry standard for defining the term "natural" in cleaners. SC Johnson guidelines require that, to be considered "natural", at least 99% of the ingredients in a product must be natural or derived from natural sources.

Nature's Source™ products are formulated as follows:
- Nature's Source™ Natural Glass & Surface Cleaner: 99.9% natural and naturally-derived ingredients
- Nature's Source™ Natural All-Purpose Cleaner: 99.6% natural and naturally-derived ingredients
- Nature's Source™ Natural Bathroom Cleaner: 99.8% natural and naturally-derived ingredients
- Nature's Source™ Natural Toilet Bowl Cleaner: 99.7% natural and naturally-derived ingredients
- Nature's Source™ Natural Laundry Stain Remover: 99% natural and naturally derived ingredients
What part is non-natural or synthetic? Why are your formulas not 100% natural?

The total amount of non-natural/synthetic ingredients in each product is less than 1% and is employed only when effective natural ingredients can not be found. These non-natural ingredients include fragrances, dyes, stabilizers and preservatives.
The synthetic ingredients fall into the following categories:
Fragrance - The fragrance does contain some natural and synthetic ingredients to ensure stability and overall quality. Fragrance is included as a cleaning cue.

Dyes - Some proven synthetic dyes are used to maintain product appeal with good stability. The dye in our Natural Toilet Bowl Cleaner was included as a cleaning cue and usage guide.

Stabilizers - It is critical for the product performance to maintain its stability over time. Stabilizers have been added to help protect the pH and for maintaining clarity.

Preservatives - SC Johnson has strict guidelines regarding microbial controls. Adding a preservative protects the formulation from bacteria, mold and yeast. This ensures we maintain product quality, performance and safety.
Where do your natural ingredients come from?

Our natural ingredients come from a variety of sources including the following: coconut/palm kernel oil-based cleaning agents, lactic acid from fermentation, alcohol made by fermenting/distilling sugars from corn and thickeners from plants and organisms found in nature.
Do your products have a fragrance?

Yes, our products have a fragrance. It is a light citrus blend exclusive to these products.
Are your products kosher?

Our Natural Glass & Surface Cleaner and Natural All-Purpose Cleaner have been kosher certified. products.
